First coast-to-coast autonomous drive

Our team and technology helped complete the longest automated vehicle drive ever – traveling nearly 3,400 miles from San Francisco to New York City, with 99 percent of the drive in fully automated mode. The vehicle successfully navigated through complex driving situations collecting data essential to advancing the emerging active safety technology sector.

Ottomatika Acquisition

We acquired Ottomatika, a Carnegie Mellon University spinoff company that provides software and systems development for self-driving vehicles. Ottomatika’s software acts as the brain powering our advanced network of sensor technology for autonomous vehicles. Together, they create a platform that enables vehicles to make safe, highly complex decisions.

Today’s software-defined vehicles generate a lot of data.  It’s expensive to transmit, and it’s not all useful. There’s a big difference between “Big Data” and real, actionable insights.  Aptiv Connected Services helps its customers unlock the power of data.  You don’t need the haystack uploaded to the cloud, just the needles.

Singapore AMoD pilot program

Our company was selected by the Singapore Land Transport Authority to help implement a cloud-based mobility-on-demand transport concept. Providing a fleet of fully autonomous vehicles, we opened new business opportunities for existing and potential customers in mobility and connectivity, logistics, agriculture and mining. This was the beginning of three-year pilot program, with a target for fully operational service in 2022.

The future of mobility is connected, and software plays a critical role in modern vehicles. The acquisition of Movimento – a company specializing in secure, seamless, over-the-air software updates – further strengthens our ability to deliver and support the systems of the future. This includes active safety, automated driving and automated mobility-on-demand capabilities.

NuTonomy acquisition

The first large-scale opportunity to make Level 4 self-driving vehicles a reality is expected to come through ride-hailing fleets. We acquired NuTonomy – a software startup developing vehicle-to-passenger information systems for robo-taxi service – to accelerate road-testing and add even more expertise to our R&D team.

Aptiv Launches Fleet on the Lyft Network

Aptiv announced the launch of a fleet of 30 autonomous vehicles in Las Vegas on the Lyft network. These vehicles will operate on Aptiv’s fully-integrated autonomous driving platform and be made available to the public in partnership with Lyft. Passengers will have the ability to hail a self-driving vehicle equipped with Aptiv technology to and from high-demand locations.

Motional: The Hyundai Motor Group and Aptiv Autonomous Driving Joint Venture

The autonomous driving joint venture, formed by Hyundai Motor Group and Aptiv was established in March 2020 to advance the development and commercialization of the highest-performing and safest autonomous vehicles.

Aptiv Celebrates 10 Years Since IPO

In the 10 years following its IPO as Delphi Automotive, Aptiv created more than $40 billion of value for shareholders while furthering its mission of enabling the sustainable future of mobility. CEO Kevin Clark commemorated the occasion at the New York Stock Exchange, saying, “I genuinely believe the best is yet to come for Aptiv.”
